MCPLA Meeting Minutes
March 6, 2018
Currie Park Club House

Meeting called to order at 6:30pm by President John Haeflinger.
In attendance were officers and directors representing the following MCPLA clubs:

Brown Deer - 3        Currie - 3              Dretzka - 3        Grant - 4
Greenfield – 3          Oakwood - 3         Whitnall - 3

Motion Made, seconded and carried to approve the minutes from
the October 3, 2017 MCPLA meeting.

The checkbook is reconciled through February 28, 2018

Currie Park GC
New bridge construction between holes #2-3
Drainage work holes #10, 14, 17, 18
Brown Deer Park GC
Tree removal holes #14, 16, 17

Dretzka Park GC
Approx. 800 trees removed to date
Specific to holes #2, 3, 5

Greenfield Park GC
Additional work Holes #4, 7, 8
“Periscope” ready to install, weather permitting

Milwaukee County Parks

New system for recording scores and for all Milwaukee County Park information
will be in full operation for 2018 golf season.
Discussion followed with reference to 2018 Milw. County Resident/Non-Resident
Discount Card renewal and Rewards Program.
New clubhouse for Oakwood Park GC is completed with the exception
of the Pro Shop which has renewal scheduled for 2019-20.

New Business:
Milwaukee Golf Show, March 16-18, 2018 at State Fair Park.
Two (2) “spots” available for MCPLA members to share the booth
with Milw. County Parks.
Saturday, March 17 @ 1:00-4:00PM / Sunday, March 18 @ 1:00-4:00PM.
Please contact John Haeflinger if able to assist.
MCPLA booth volunteers need to pay for entry ticket and provide
receipt for reimbursement.                                                      

A lengthy discussion followed with reference to the recently discontinued
MCPLA 1st Team competitions.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to determine
if 1st Team competition should be reinstated for 2018. A review/study will
determine which MCPLA Clubs (7) will be willing and able to field a 1st Team
for 2018, how many players from each MCPLA Club will participate in
each competition and the format to be played for the competitions.
Following completion of review the results will be specifically organized
and provided for discussion at the April 3, 2018 MCPLA Board of Director’s
Meeting. Further discussion and consideration will follow with the MCPLA
membership in attendance at the meeting.
Chet Hendrickson, Milw. Parks Golf Services Manager was in attendance
and expressed a willingness to be present at the April 3, 2018 meeting
and to assist in scheduling appropriate dates for 2018 competitions.
