05.06.2014 Meeting

MCPLA Meeting Minutes
May 6, 2014

Meeting called to order at 6:30pm by Vice President Robert Cohn. In attendance were officers
and directors representing the following MCPLA clubs:
Currie – 5 Brown Deer – 3 Dretzka – 1 Grant – 4
Greenfield-0 Oakwood – 3 Whitnall - 2

Motion made, seconded and carried to accept minutes from the April 1, 2014 meeting.

Treasurer, Ken Lauffer reported:
As of May 5, 2014 Operating Account $17,541.33
CAP Fund Account $13,656.77 (Not incl. $1,000.00 IOU from Milw. Cnty)
Check book reconciled through April 30, 2014

1st Team Report lacking as a 1st Team Team Director has not as yet been determined.
A discussion among 1st Team directors followed regarding current competition format and the
designation of a 1st Team Director. 1st Team directors were urged to get together as a group and discuss
both the format and director situations.

Brian Peterson, 2nd Team Director reported on initial 2nd Team event at Brown Deer GC on
May 3, 2014. Fine course condition was reported as was the lack of a starter.

Tournament Director, Bob Freuck reported that to date he has received 28 mid-am applications
and 51 senior applications for the upcoming Mid-Am/Senior competition. There are three openings
remaining for the senior division.

Officers and directors present were reminded that non-resident MCPLA members can get ID card for
same price as residents. This can be done at the member course as well as any other course. The Club
President should confirm membership with the Club Pro. Best if done at own club.

Additional business presented for discussion:
A discussion took place regarding a special measuring device to quickly determine distance from ball
to hole on the green with CAP Fund providing the funds. Details will be provided at a future meeting.

A CAP Fund request to rehab the inside and outside of the bathrooms at Whitnall GC. Two bids
($7.660.00 & $8470.00) have been received. The CAP Fund would pay ½ of either bid minus the
$1000.00 credit. There was not a motion to bring the request to a vote.

Following a brief discussion regarding the elimination of a few of the yearly MCPLA meetings,
it was determined that the February meeting could be eliminated and that the July meeting could
possibly be eliminated.

The definition of a “Tournament Score” was discussed due to the desire for uniformity among MCPLA
clubs. Tournament Directors were encouraged to meet and provide direction.

Motion made, seconded and carried to adjourn.
