08.06.2013 Minutes

MCPLA Meeting Minutes

President Haeflinger called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.  In attendance were three officers and eighteen directors representing the following clubs:

Brown Deer – 2                 Currie – 4                             Dretzka - 2
Grant – 3                             Greenfield – 1                   Oakwood - 4
Whitnall - 5

Treasurer's Report:
Current balance as of 5-Aug is $19,048.44 of which $13,656.77 is allocated to the CAP fund, leaving a balance of $5,391.67 in the MCPLA operating account.

Secretary's Report:
None, minutes from the July meeting had not yet been posted to the website (

1st Team Report
                Still looking for someone to step up as director;
                Results posted to the MCPLA website

2nd Team Report
Four of five matches have been completed; Brown Deer holds a slim 16 point lead over Currie going into last match.
Pace of play has been good, many feel using the split tees is big help.
Big thanks to the pros in assisting with the events.

Directors are reminded of their responsibility to promote the MCPLA, WPLA, NIMAGA and WSGA amongst their club’s members.

MCPLA Tournament Schedule:
·         ABW Championship at Whitnall Aug 24th/25th
o   Low turnout so far, hoping to hit 100 entries
o   No 1st team players from Greenfield signed up yet; why?
·         NIMAGA Sept 21st at Evergreen
·         Worker’s Tournament Oct 13th at Dretzka

2014 scheduling mtg will take place on 5-Sep; more details and preliminary schedule to be sent out prior to mtg.

CAP fund:  Grant suggested signage for 10th tee, indicating players on 9th hole have right away.

WPLA schedule:
  • State 36-Hole Sept 7th/8th at Yahara Hills, Madison

Election of officers for 2014 will take place at Oct mtg; currently need to fill vacancies for VP and Secretary.  Please talk it up amongst club members; would like to get some new blood…  Also still looking for 1st Team Director.

New Business:
  • Ian Pederson brought up issue of unfilled divots at Whitnall and why doesn’t the county provide sand/seed bottles on the carts.  Why is this only at Brown Deer?
    • Need to raise the issue with Jon Canavan.
